CV

Lucy’s practice rests in the space between drawing and painting;  abstract forms emerging from fluid line, layers of translucent colour and negative space.  She reacts to specific locations, scenes and objects to form her altered images. Motifs are repeated and developed throughout her work, sliding over, sitting on and blending into surfaces to suggest a surreal narrative.

Lucy leans into the in-between, crossing the theshold between the interior and the exterior. She lets her work shift and develop for the viewer, rather than closing all the doors to reach resolution.

Lucy is interested in the themes and imagery connected to domestic spaces, and the act of observing, creating and collaborating from a feminine perspective.
